Five of Pentacles
Overall meaning
Five Pentacles represent difficulties, rejection or a negative change in circumstances. You may feel like the world is against you and nothing is going your way when it appears. It can mean struggles or adversity. Homelessness, unemployment, alienation and poverty.
Description
Five Pentacles show a poor woman and a man with crutches walking in snowy weather. They have bare feet and their clothes are tattered. They walk past a beautiful and colorfully lit church window. The man even has a bell around his neck, which probably indicates that he is sick and can infect others around him if they get too close.
Characteristic of both of them is that their belief that they are poor and in a hopeless situation prevents them from looking for an opportunity for change – they see nothing but their own problems and suffering. Five of Pentacles generally symbolizes a feeling of uncertainty, worry and pain.
The two people on the card are clearly suffering, and are in some kind of mortal danger. The two do not see the illuminated window behind them, but are only focused on getting by and surviving. There is a sense of great loss associated with this card, which means that one experiences pain. Among other things, the card can symbolize that you have to deal with the loss and the pain and find out what it wants to tell you and what lies behind it.

Or you may find that it can be difficult to create a meaning and overall purpose in life.
But the card also shows that you are prepared to see your situation as it is. You have the opportunity to liberate yourself by creating the change or transformation that is necessary. Find out if it is about you having to communicate something.
It may also be that you have to work with a feeling within yourself; for example, an old pattern of worry. In that case, it will be beneficial to work on being in the present, instead of in the future and in the past.
