Ten Swords shows a man lying on the ground with ten swords stuck in his body. He lies by the water and on the horizon you can see mountains, the night sky, and the sun which is either setting or rising.
The image indicates the ultimate catastrophe – reason is dead, the limits of grief and pain have been reached, and at the same time the battle is finally over – the long painful night is over and the sun and new opportunities can break out.
